Thanksgiving is all about taking a moment to reflect upon what you’re grateful for. It might be something as simple as time with friends and family or as fundamental as food and shelter. Thanksgiving is also a good time to remember that not everyone has access to the things they need in order to meet their basic needs and to consider how you can contribute to improving things for these neighbors. That’s where the Arlington Turkey Trot comes in.
Every year on Thanksgiving morning, hundreds of runners and walkers come together to raise funds for local nonprofits that provide food, shelter, and resources to community members and families in need. You can be part of that mission this year when you sign up for the fun 5K run and walk ($50) or by simply providing a donation to the cause. If you opt to actually participate, lace up your running sneakers and come to Christ Church in Arlington to grab your packet in the days before Thanksgiving or just before 8 a.m. on November 24th. That’s when the race kicks off!
